Your dog or cat is your best friend, and Animal Day is not the only day you can put your pet in the spotlight. Your dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, or other pet is always there for you and is loving, caring, funny, and mischievous. Every now and then, you can give your pet something extra. But how do you do that in a fun and varied way?
1) Something tasty
Surprise your dog, cat, rabbit, or other pet with a delicious cake made from their favorite food. Actually, anything you put in the cake is fine, as long as it's not the standard food you give every day. Just make sure that your recipe is suitable for your pet. If it’s a large cake, it might be wise to give it in different portions so your pet doesn't get sick from too much food at once.
2) Walks
Do you have a dog? Then you probably know how happy these animals get from a nice walk. This way, they can expend all their energy in the space they have outside. You can also go to a field or park where other dogs are being walked. Then they can play with other dogs too. Moreover, getting some fresh air is good not only for the dog but also for you. A win-win situation! Do you have a cat, but live in a place where you prefer not to let them outside? You can still take them for a walk; pet stores sell leashes specifically for cats. Fresh air is also very important and healthy for cats.
3) Give them some extra attention
Many pets are real companions, which means they enjoy your company as well. Maybe you are not often home due to work or other commitments. This can make them feel lonely at times. By giving them a little extra attention when you are home, they feel that you are there for them too. For example, take some extra time to play or cuddle with them. Do you have a pet that loves to be brushed? Then that is the perfect way to pamper your pet.
4) Gifts
Your pet will also appreciate gifts! Pets are always happy with new toys. A new ball for the dog, a new wheel for the guinea pig, or a new scratching post for the cat: your pet will be super happy with it.
